Date Posted:21:09:44 09/30/06 Sat The machine is best known as a Pachislo. Post jackpot the machine resets itself - you do however need to complete the win cycle. In Japan the law states that you can not have more than a 5:1 win which is why you get paid 15 tokens for a 3 coin win. To get around this the machine goes into a cycle anywhere from 2 to 30 rounds where you are a guarenteed winner. Each time paying you 15 tokens ... once the credit meter is maxed out at 50. When the machine runs out of tokens - open it up and fill it back up. You will need to do a minor reset to get it going again - but after the reset you need to keep playing - and it will eventually stop and go back to normal. The reset is acomplished in a couple of ways. On a machine that has all the orginal parts you can do a minor reset by turning the door key to the right. This does not always work as often the lock mech has been replaced. These machines are exported out of Japan as their gaming regulations only allow the machine to be used for 23 months. When the machine arrives in North America it may come with a key or perhaps not. The ones that do not get their locks replaced with a generic key mech and unfortunately that does not support the integrated wiring that does the reset. The other reset button is generally located by the internal key switch. Simply press the button. To do a major reset - turn the machine off, turn the key switch to the ON postion, turn the machine ON. Press the reset button and then turn the key to the off position. You also might want to check out www.pachitalk.com as they specialize on these units. A couple other things to note. These units are referred to as a skill stop - again its illegal in Japan to have games of chance so their slots are games of skill. There is also 6 payout levels 95.5, 97.8, 102.9, 108.3, 115.5, 119.98 with 1 being the lowest and 6 being the highest. You might wonder how a gaming device makes money with a 119.98 percent payback... First these machines are played with tokens not money and again according to Japanese gaming laws they cannot redeem the tokens for cash. The tokens can however be redeemed for prizes. The prizes are 'over priced' - Ie $200 worth of tokens for a large stuffed bear. When the patron leaves the pachi parlor it is common to find a prize redemtion center that is not related (nod nod wink wink) to the pachi parlor who just happens to be in the market for a large stuffed bear and is willing to pay $50 cash for it. Casinos don't lose money. >I have a Yamasa Co Lts Slot machine. It says King of >the Ocean Type A on the front.
